About Me

My name is Karen Miller and I am a holistic therapist.

Holistic therapy means treating the body as a whole and not just on the physical level.  In other words, treating the mind, body and spirit.

I have been very blessed coming from a spiritual family where healing has always been quite a normal thing to practice. My Mother and Grandmother had a healing gift.

From an early age I have been drawn to pebbles, rocks and stones and then crystals. It soon became evident to me that there were more to these wonderful objects than just their beauty . The energy they radiate can be very comforting and soothing in times of stress. I have attended many work shops over the years.

It wasn’t until I was recommended to Philip Permutt, the crystal healer, that I decided to train to the practitioner level, which I have completed so I have added this to my list of therapies.
I have always used crystals on an intuitive level, which has worked very well in the past. If we listened more to this intuition, it is how you know what you really need instinctively, be it a certain food or like-wise a crystal that you are drawn to. Usually is the exact one you need!

It was great to find such a good teacher as Philip. He really helped bring out my natural abilities and instincts when working with the crystals. His website is www.thecrystalhealer.co.uk

I have had an interest in alternative therapies for many years and I have been available for holistic treatments in the UK and Portugal for over a decade now.

I became interested in Aromatherapy in the 1990’s when I was a sales assistant for a company that sold candles and essential oils. I started my studies and discovered that these oils were not pure oils. I then made it my goal to have my own shop and to sell only the purest of oils . I achieved that in 1997. I opened my own little shop The Mind Body and Spice shop in Bexhill Indoor Market selling holistic products and crystals.

In the time I ran my shop I met some very spiritual and wise souls, including my Reiki master Safar Leggott. I sold copies of many of her wonderful meditation cd’s.

I discovered the amazing teachings of Louise Hay and Susan Jeffers.
The workshops were run by a wonderful teacher called Anne Todd who also went on to run E.F.T courses as well. I attended many of her workshops and found them very helpful not only for myself but for my clients too.

I think through our journey in life we pick up lots of techniques that can be incorporated into therapies so that clients have a really unique experience.
That’s what I want to achieve with Lotus Therapies.

I studied for four years at the College of Art and Technology in Hastings from 1998-2002. In that time I achieved my diplomas in Swedish Massage, Aromatherapy, Anatomy and Physiology and Reflexology.

In 2001 I achieved my diploma for Reiki level 1 and In 2005 I achieved Reiki level 2.

Since then I have carried on studying and have taken bridging courses in Nutritional Healing, Bio Energy(detox foot spa treatment), Acupressure, Crystal Healing, Indian Head Massage and Colour Healing.

  1. Hello
I would like to book for a massage and reflexology session! I see you have a Mother’s Day deal, so wondered if you could give me a price for a full hour of reflexology after the massage. Also, I like the idea of a Swedish massage but using aromatherapy oils – is that possible or is it two separate things?
Finally, I live near Uckfield (close to a The Peacock!), so wondered when you would be able to come to me or where you operate from?
    Many thanks
    Lucy
